Our Commitment
At Precious Again we aim to be as transparent as possible
At Precious Again we aim to be as transparent as possible. All scrap textiles we receive from local dressmakers are used in the artworks. Excess beads, sequins, embellishments, stray threads and smaller scraps from making the artworks are collected, shredded, carded and hand-spun into decorative yarn used to package the artworks. This decorative yarn can then be reused again and again to wrap gifts. Any other stray fibres collected are made into a mixed fibre paper used as the Certificate of Authenticity.
The substrate for these artworks is the recycled textile product Uptex from Upparel.
Any leftover acrylic paint used in the studio is wiped onto the fabric scraps and left in jars to soak up the paint water. The water evaporates leaving the paint pigments and binders attached to the textiles, leaving no paint water left to be tipped down the sink and entering our waterways.
All packaging used is 100% recyclable or home compostable. Details of how to recycle and compost your Precious Again packaging can be found here.
We use solar power and battery energy to power our studio.
We are committed to making a luxurious experience for you. When you purchase one of our artworks we hope you feel proud to own a unique, tactile artwork that keeps stunning but small pieces of fabric out of landfill.
